CLOVIS, Calif. (FOX26) — Clovis residents have a new place to walk, run and enjoy the outdoors with the completion of the expanded Letterman Trail.
The trail is just over half a mile long, running between Barstow and Villa Avenues along the Fresno Irrigation District’s Big Dry Creek Canal and through Letterman Park.
The trail is named in honor of fallen Clovis firefighter Clinton J. Letterman and was made possible through federal grant funding and a partnership between the City of Clovis and Fresno Irrigation District.

The ceremony included remarks from project partners and a memorial presentation by the Clovis Fire Department honoring Letterman.
