The pursuit of a stolen car in Lakewood ended in a fiery crash early Wednesday.
Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department say it was a short chase before the driver appeared to lose control and crashed at Candlewood Street and Premiere Avenue.
The driver reportedly collided with a tree shortly after midnight and was able to get out of the vehicle moments before it caught on fire.
According to LASD, the driver was the only person in the car and was rushed to the hospital.
