BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — To help garner support and boost votes in the Central Valley, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson will be joining Rep. David Valadao in Bakersfield for a Rally Tuesday afternoon.
The rally comes as Congressional District 22 is poised to be one of the nation’s battleground districts this upcoming midterm elections.
Valadao will be facing off against political newcomer and progressive candidate Randy Villegas, who has raked in support, endorsements and campaign contributions from around the country.
Villegas is expected to host a rally with U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders this upcoming Sunday.
The location of Wednesday’s event is provided to rallygoers upon RSVPing to the event, Valadao’s office said.
