Mission Bayfest is just a couple weeks away and tickets are going fast.
Slated for Oct. 16, 17 and 18 at Mariner’s Point Park, the festival is a community centered weekend full of live music, vendors and time outdoors.
“We are super excited about Mission Bayfest 2026 in the beautiful Mission Bay,” said Mikey Beltran, managing partner of Mission Bayfest.
This year, musical acts will hail from across the world, including Guam and London, with plenty local favorites from San Diego sprinkled in. On Friday, Oct. 16 the band Rebelution will headline. Saturday, Oct. 17 will showcase headliner Kolohe Kai and Sunday, Oct. 18 will feature The Offspring.
“We have some amazing headliners this year. Returning to the main stage on Friday is Rebelution, Surfer Girl and Steel Pulse, all of which sit in the American Reggae category,” Beltran said. “Saturday will have more Pacific Island Reggae vibes, headlined by an excellent band out of Hawaii. On Sunday, we are leaning more towards punk and rock.”
New this year includes a re-structuring of stages, something Beltran said he is confident will bring together all the coastal vibes.
“This year, we are bringing back the under the bridge stage,” Beltran said. “On Friday we will have local DJs, a Jamaican act and more down there. On Sunday, under the bridge we will have the Emo Night Tour, which is the group that will be playing there for five hours.”
Emphasizing the late summer energy will be the new addition of the beach stage.
“There will be a bigger activation overall in the sand, like the beach stage,” Beltran said. “We are bringing back big LED screens and speakers which will allow for more time in the sand.”
The best part, according to Beltran, will certainly be the weather.
“It is the best time of year in San Diego,” he said. “It’s October, there is never a cloud in the sky, it will be beautiful and absolutely perfect. It is what gets people coming back more and more. Expect toes in the grass, toes in the sand and toes in the water. It is a fun day in the sun with all your favorite people.”
Mission Bayfest is an all-ages event, geared at family fun and a community feel, he said.
“For those who have not yet gone to Bayfest, this festival is dedicated to our culture,” Beltran said. “Our culture is chill music, water features and perfect weather. We provide the music, and this is a cumulation of years and years of other music festivals just like this. This festival is dedicated to locals like us.
“For those coming from out of town, what you will find is San Diego beach and bay culture,” he said. “This is why you come to San Diego. Everyone should come feel the vibe.”
