Whether you’re searching for the perfect pumpkin to carve into a jack-o’-lantern or just want to add some fall flair to your home, the Central Valley has plenty of great places to choose from.

FRESNO COUNTY

NAME: SUNFLOWER FARM STAND

INFORMATION: To kick off the fall season, they’re hosting their Fall Festival every day through October! This exciting event will feature a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, goat feeding, and photo ops on their sunflower farm. INFORMATION: A Fresno County fall tradition for more than 50 years, Simonian Farms is bringing plenty of seasonal fun to its pumpkin patch. While the farm grows more than 180 varieties of fruits and vegetables, fall is the perfect time to stop by and pick out your pumpkin. Little ones can also brave the Haunted Caboose for a fun, spooky scare, while the whole family can snap some fall-themed photos at the free photo op spot.

INFORMATION: Visit this cute little boutique cut flower farm, Sweet Thistle Farms, along with Rocky Oaks Goat Creamery, where they will be having different pumpkin varieties anyone can pick from, hay rides, photo opportunities, tractor rides, food trucks, barn vendor shopping, and scrumptious cheese sampling. Kids will also get the fun opportunity to meet some of Rocky Oaks’ friendly goats and farm animals. Open every weekend in October only; $25 per car with advance ticket purchase, $30 per car day-of ticket purchase.

NAME: BILLY BOB’S PUMPKIN GROVE – HOBB’S GROVE

INFORMATION: Wanting a less scary experience for the kids at Hobb’s Grove? Take a stroll through Billy Bob Hobb’s Pumpkin Grove! This guided tour is available on weekdays only for schools and small groups. Starting October 6, kids will enjoy a fun-filled educational experience and get a school-size pumpkin (included with their ticket purchase) to take home afterward! Families also have the opportunity to participate in the various activities they offer, like hayrides, a mini corn maze, and a mystical fairy village

NAME: HAPS FANTASTICAL FARM

INFORMATION: HAPS Fantastical Farm is a pumpkin patch by day and a light show by night. Open October 1st-October 31st, visitors can experience two different seasonal attractions depending on the time of day. The Fantastical Farm After Dark runs Thursday through Sunday evenings from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, transforming the farm into a nightscape filled with lights. For more traditional pumpkin patch fun, daytime activities are available on Saturdays and Sundays only, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a $5 entry fee. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance online

NAME: HILLCREST FARMS

INFORMATION: Make your way to Hillcrest Farms in Reedley for a day of autumn fun with the family. Open weekends from October 3 through November 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the farm offers plenty of ways to enjoy the season, including walking trails, a corn path and space to make family memories, all free with your visit. For even more fall fun, hop aboard a hayride for $10 per vehicle or take a train ride for $4 one-way or $5 round-trip.

NAME: PLANET PUMPKIN

INFORMATION: Get ready for fall fun at Planet Pumpkin in Fresno, open October 1 through November 2. Planet Pumpkin is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and weekends, with rides starting after 4 p.m. on weekdays and at 12 p.m. on weekends. Enjoy small carnival rides, browse local vendors and spend time with the family for a fun-filled autumn outing.

NAME: RIVER RANCH PUMPKIN PATCH

INFORMATION: We grow our own pumpkins each year from seeds. MERCED COUNTY

NAME: HUNTER FARMS PUMPKIN PATCH

INFORMATION: Hunter Farms Pumpkin Patch opened its doors to the public for its first season in October of 2013, offering wide varieties of pumpkins for purchase along with free hayrides, a hay pyramid, kids’ sandbox, trike track, critter corral, and a 5-acre corn maze. The pumpkin patch received a great response from the community, keeping both the Hunter family and staff busy with pumpkin sales, educational field trips, youth group visits, birthday parties, and special harvest dinners. Thanks to the overwhelming response in their first season, Hunter Farms Pumpkin Patch added the Time Travel Tractor attraction and a rustic water wheel photo spot for the 2014 season

MARIPOSA COUNTY

NAME: HAPPY GOAT PUMPKIN PATCH

INFORMATION: The free Happy Goat pumpkin patch is back for fall, and you can turn the ride there into an adventure. Ride the backroads outside Mariposa through ranchland and oak-covered Sierra Foothills, stop at the pumpkin patch, and enjoy some of the year’s best riding weather. If you’re visiting Yosemite this October—or you live nearby and want a different way to spend a fall day—come ride with us.

TULARE COUNTY

NAME: VOSSLER FARMS

INFORMATION: On weekdays (Mondays-Fridays), only the corn maze, hayride, and pumpkin patch are open during the day. Food vendors, the carnival, train rides, and pony rides are open at 4pm on weekdays. Please check the VENDORS page for each vendor’s hours!

In 2017, they decided to expand their horizons and offer another fun, affordable experience for families in Visalia. Hannegan’s Harvest Festival is a traditional Pumpkin Patch in the heart of Visalia, CA, where families can go to have fun together on a relatively small budget. We have unique heirloom pumpkins, decorative gourds, a 20′ tall inflatable slide, an inflatable obstacle course, photo-worthy creative backdrops, a race car ride, and a “spooky” train ride.
