EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk announced vote-by-mail ballots will be distributed starting Thursday for the Nov. 3 General Municipal Election.
All registered voters in LA County are being mailed a ballot that may be returned at any vote-by-mail drop box, in person at any vote center beginning Oct. 24 in the county, or by mail, with no postage required.
Voters can track their ballot every step of the way with the Where’s My Ballot? tool — a free subscription that sends automatic notifications by text, email or voicemail on the status of the ballot.
More information, including a current list of all LA County 24-hour Vote by Mail Ballot Drop Boxes, or to check registration information or to request a ballot in a different language, is available at lavote.gov.
All voters may track their ballots here. Drop boxes will remain open until 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
“This is a long ballot, so we encourage voters to take the time to review their choices and, when they’re ready, vote and return their ballot early,” Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean C. Logan said in a news release Thursday. “Voting early is convenient for voters and allows our office to begin processing ballots sooner so more can be included in Election Night results.”
Sample ballot books continue to be mailed to all registered voters, according to the RR/CC, and some voters may receive their ballot before their sample ballot.
Logan’s news release also noted that eligible voters who haven’t registered and want to vote by mail must register to vote by Oct. 19, 2026, to receive one.
