SACRAMENTO, Calif. (FOX26) — A Fresno man is facing four felony charges after a woman was shot and killed outside a Sacramento trampoline park while celebrating her 8-year-old son’s birthday.

The shooting happened Sunday outside Urban Air Trampoline Park in Sacramento. Police said two women were shot.

One of the victims, 29-year-old Samantha Cromwell of Fresno, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cromwell was at the trampoline park to celebrate her son’s eighth birthday when she was killed.

Edward Tucker, 36, of Fresno, is accused of shooting Cromwell. Her grandmother, Pamela Ward, said Cromwell had moved to Sacramento to get away from Tucker.

“The sentiments are still the same, still a lot of pain,” Ward said. “We want justice, and I do believe we will get it from the way it sounds.”

Court records show Tucker has a criminal history in Fresno County, including a felony conviction.

In 2024, Tucker was charged with shooting into an occupied home and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to three years in prison but served about one year.

Tucker was also arrested on a domestic violence charge in August and was released the same day.

He now faces charges of murder, attempted murder, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, among other felony counts. He is being held in the Sacramento County Jail without bail.

Cromwell’s family has created a GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses and support her son.
