MAR VISTA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A bus driver was fatally shot by a passenger following a dispute in Mar Vista on Thursday, according to Los Angeles police.
The shooting was reported around 5:15 p.m. near Centinela Avenue and Washington Boulevard. Police said a dispute occurred between the passenger and the bus driver before the passenger pulled out a gun and shot the driver.
The passenger fled the scene on a bicycle, police said.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect remained outstanding as of Thursday evening.
Further details about the shooting were not immediately available.
Footage from AIR7 showed the street blocked off with crime scene tape and a bus nearby. Multiple police officers and patrol vehicles were at the scene as the investigation continued.
