The Montebello Police Department is searching for a person who they say tried to run over two officers during a pursuit.
Police say an officer was in pursuit of a reckless driver when the chase continued into Pico Rivera.
A witness told police they saw the suspected driver’s car parked at the end of the street.
Officers spotted and approached the car when they said the driver accelerated toward them. The incident happened early Tuesday near Paramount Boulevard and Telegraph Road.
Officers then shot at the car, but it was unclear if the driver was struck. The suspected driver fled the scene.
According to reports from the scene, as many as 15 shots were fired by the officers.
No officers were injured in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
