Women pitmasters, young chefs take center stage at Sacramento Rib Cook-Off
Women pitmasters and aspiring young chefs will take center stage during the “Women Make The World Go Around Rib Cook-Off & Jr. Chef Competition” on Saturday, Oct. 10, in North Natomas.
The daylong event runs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4112 E. Commerce Way, beginning with a pancake breakfast before the all-women rib cook-off starts at 11 a.m.
Young ladies will compete in a steak and mystery basket challenge, while the event also features cooking demonstrations, live music, dance performances, karaoke, a kids’ zone and other family activities.
Organizers say proceeds will benefit “My Sister’s House”, which supports women affected by domestic violence, and the “American Cancer Society” in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The celebration continues Saturday night with an all-women comedy show at the Wyndham Garden Hotel.
