BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Shafter police said detectives are working with law enforcement partner agencies to investigate suspected online exploitation of minors.
The Shafter Police Department said they remain committed to protecting the community’s youth from people who try to exploit minors through online platforms.
Shafter police posted a social media announcement titled “Update: Coordinating to Catch a Predator.”

In a social media post, it said, “Detective Ozaeta, with the assistance of Shafter Police officers, has taken an active role in investigating cases involving the suspected online exploitation of minors. She has also worked closely with our allied law enforcement partners when investigations extend beyond our jurisdiction. These collaborative efforts have contributed to multiple arrests.”
Shafter police said due to the sensitive and ongoing nature of these investigations, additional details cannot be released at this time.
Shafter police said in the post that they will continue to work proactively with their law enforcement partners to identify those who “seek to prey upon minors and hold them accountable.”
