Kaiser Permanente will lay off 147 employees across California on November 20, with the majority of cuts hitting San Diego County.
According to a state employment report filed on September 21, the reductions impact 16 locations across Alameda, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Sacramento, and San Diego counties. The nonprofit healthcare provider confirmed that the affected roles are strictly within business and administrative functions, meaning the cuts will not impact direct patient care.
The regional distribution of the layoffs includes:
San Diego County: 72 employees (primarily at the San Diego administrative office)
Alameda County: 34 employees (22 in Pleasanton, 11 at the Oakland headquarters, and 1 at another Oakland facility)
Los Angeles County: 21 employees (20 in Pasadena and 1 in Los Angeles)
Remaining Counties: The final 20 positions are spread across offices in Irvine (Orange County), Corona (Riverside County), Sacramento, and Folsom (Sacramento County).
