Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot and killed early Sunday in Long Beach, authorities said.
Officers responded at approximately 1:28 a.m. to the 200 block of Falcon Avenue following reports of a shooting, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Upon arrival, they found a male adult suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner, the LBPD said.
No arrests have been reported.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and the motive remains unclear.
