Jungle has spent the past decade blurring the lines between modern funk, disco, neo-soul and sleek electronic pop, making music that feels both nostalgic and unmistakably contemporary. Built on elastic bass lines, falsetto harmonies and grooves built for the dance floor, the British group has become just as famous for its hypnotic one-take dance films as for songs like the viral hit “Back on 74.”

That momentum continues with “Sunshine,” the group’s fifth album, released in August. The follow-up to 2023’s “Volcano” leans into warmer, more optimistic territory while expanding the band’s soulful sound. It also marks the first album to officially feature longtime collaborator Lydia Kitto as a full-time member.

After performing at Golden Gate Park during Outside Lands in 2024, Jungle returns to the Bay Area for two nights at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre on Tuesday-Wednesday, Oct. 6-7, to help turn the workweek into a dance party.
