The system delivers focused radiation to treat brain tumors and other neurological conditions without open surgery. It is designed to limit exposure to surrounding healthy tissue and may serve as an alternative to conventional surgery or radiation therapy for some patients.
Keck Hospital marked the installation with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The hospital’s multidisciplinary team includes neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists who specialize in stereotactic radiosurgery, a noninvasive treatment typically performed on an outpatient basis.
The specialists collaborate to develop individualized treatment plans for patients with brain tumors and brain metastases, tailoring care to each patient’s diagnosis and treatment needs.
