
SAN JOSE, Calif.- Sam Keightley has been named WCC Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday morning. He has now earned this award in back-to-back weeks to close out the regular season.
In the No. 7 Spartans’ 15-7 victory over No. 15 Cal Baptist, this past Saturday, Keightley led the Spartans with five goals, matching his season high he tallied against Air Force just the week before.
Keightley also led the Spartans in the 11-9 loss to No. 16 UC Irvine. He scored four goals on five shots and was the highest scorer in the Spartans’ final three games of the season.
The Spartans concluded conference play 5-1, being crowned co-regular season champions. The Spartans will enter the WCC Tournament as the second seed, which will take place from Nov. 21-23 at the USAFA in Colorado Springs, Colo.
