2024-25 Season series: Avalanche swept 3-0

The Ducks have won 7 in a row dating back to Oct. 28, and Anaheim has outscored the opposition 34-17 in the win streak, with each victory coming as an underdog. In fact, the Ducks are 9-0 in the past 9 games as an underdog on the puck line, too. The Over is 3-1 in the past 4 games, while going 7-3 across the past 10 contests.

Anaheim won 4-1 last time out Sunday at home as an underdog (+125) as the Under (6.5) cashed. G Lukas Dostal made 23 saves on 24 shots, while RW Beckett Sennecke netted a pair of goals.

The Avalanche have won 3 in a row, outscoring teams 17-7. Colorado has won 5 of the past 6 games, too, all as a favorite. The Over has cashed in each of the past 2 games, too.

Colorado won 5-4 in overtime Sunday at the Vancouver Canucks as a big favorite (-205), cashing the Over (6.5). LW Artturi Lehkonen and C Nathan MacKinnon each had 2 goals apiece, while C Gavin Brindley scored the overtime winner.

Ducks at Avalanche picks and predictionsPrediction

Ducks 4, Avalanche 3

The DUCKS (+190) are a worth a roll of the dice for the chance to nearly double up. Anaheim has been on fire lately, and this isn’t the struggling Ducks team casual fans are used to seeing in recent seasons. This young core is jelling nicely, and Anaheim has staying power.

The Avalanche are 4-0-2 in 6 games at home, so don’t be surprised to see this one need overtime or a shootout before it is decided.

If you’re a little more conservative, DUCKS +1.5 (-120) still offers decent value. The Avs haven’t lost in regulation at home in 6 tries, and Colorado has gone to overtime or a shootout 6 times in its past 14 games. Eight of its games have been decided by a single goal.

OVER 6.5 (-130) is the lean, but roll with a half-unit play at best.

The Under has a slight 3-2 edge in the past 5 games for the Avalanche. The Over is 3-1 in the past 4 games for the Ducks, but the Under did hit Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets. The Over is 3-2-2 in the past 7 in this series, too, so play it safe.
