ELK GROVE, Calif. —
Aviators Restaurant, a longtime Sacramento favorite, reopened Monday at Elk Grove’s Sky Port Restaurant and Bar, offering breakfast service from Monday through Saturday.
Aviators’ owner Cheung-Sang Chik, who goes by the name Mr. Chik, said he had to stop service at the original Aviators location back in January due to issues with the building that housed his restaurant.
The owner of Sky Port heard about the situation and felt eager to lend a hand.
Sky Port hosts dinner and Sunday brunch service and has an aviation and nautical theme.
Now, Chik is committed to working behind the scenes, overseeing the kitchen and helping the existing staff prepare Aviators’ familiar breakfast dishes and food favorites.
The goal is to recreate the service and sense of community customers have come to know and love.
