OAKLAND — A local resident accused of sending his girlfriend on a prostitution “tour” of the country has been sentenced to probation through a plea deal, court records show.
Demond Williams, 41, pleaded no contest to pimping in exchange for a two-year felony probation term. He was also sentenced to 12 days he already served in county jail, records show.
Williams was charged last year after his girlfriend accused him of pimping her around the United States. She told police they met through a dating app and that he sent her around the Bay Area, starting in Oakland, but that she eventually traveled to Utah, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Philadelphia and around California, authorities said.
She paid him thousands of dollars and claimed to have been left stranded in another state, prompting her to come forward, according to court records.
