A motorcyclist died in a collision with a motorist in South San Jose on Sunday morning, police said.

The deadly crash was reported at 11:48 a.m. near Almaden and McKean roads, according to the San Jose Police Department. An initial investigation determined that a man was riding a black 2009 Yamaha FZ6R motorcycle west on McKean through the intersection at Almaden and hit a northbound gray 2025 Toyota RAV4.

Police said the rider was rushed to a hospital and was pronounced dead. He has been identified by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner as 21-year-old Harrison David Golding.

The Toyota driver stopped at the scene, police said. There was no immediate indication that the motorist was arrested or cited, and police said in a Monday news release that drugs or alcohol did not factor in the crash. The intersection has stop signs on McKean Road, but not for through traffic on Almaden Road.

The crash marked the city’s 38th traffic death of the year and the fourth to involve a motorcyclist who died, according to data compiled by this news organization. San Jose had recorded 27 roadway deaths at the same point in 2025.
