Student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers and families are invited to learn more about preventing sports injuries and what recovery looks like during a free community forum hosted by Shriners Children’s Northern California.
The Sports Injury Prevention & Recovery Forum on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. will feature presentations from pediatric sports medicine experts covering injury prevention, treatment options and the recovery process for young athletes. The event is designed to help families better understand specialized pediatric sports care and how to keep athletes healthy and active.
Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Debbie Meyer will serve as the keynote speaker, while longtime Sacramento broadcaster Mark S. Allen will emcee the event.
The forum will be held at Shriners Children’s Northern California, located at 2425 Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento.
The event is free, but organizers say advanced registration is required because space is limited.
