Yolo County’s Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is encouraging residents to protect themselves and their families from influenza by getting their annual flu vaccine.
This fall, Yolo County is partnering with cities and community organizations to offer three free flu vaccine clinics in West Sacramento and Woodland.
Flu vaccination is recommended each year for everyone 6 months of age and older. Getting vaccinated can help prevent illness and reduce the risk of severe disease, hospitalization, and death from influenza.
According to a Yolo County press release, these are the three free flu vaccine clinics:
Thursday, Oct. 15, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the West Sacramento City Hall Galleria (1110 W. Capitol Ave. in West Sacramento)
Thursday, Oct. 29, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Gonzales Building Community Room (25 N. Cottonwood St. in Woodland)
Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Woodland High School Gym (21 N. West St. in Woodland)
The clinics are free. For more information, contact the Yolo County Immunization Program at (530) 666-8552.
Flu viruses change over time, which is why flu vaccination is recommended each year. Vaccination is especially important because influenza can cause serious illness for people of any age and can pose greater risks for young children, older adults, pregnant people, and people with certain health conditions.
Residents who cannot attend one of the County’s free clinics can also contact their healthcare provider or a local pharmacy about flu vaccination.
