A 19-year-old woman walking in a parking lot was struck and killed by a compact luxury car, the Long Beach Police Department announced Tuesday.
The crash occurred just before 4 p.m. on Nov. 2 on the 2200 block of Bellflower Boulevard, near Stearns Street, the department said.
Grace Edwards, of Long Beach, was struck by a 2015 Lexus IS250 as its 39-year-old driver attempted to exit a parking stall, police said.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel rendered medical aid to Edwards and took her to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
Detectives were notified on Thursday that Edwards had died from her injuries the day before, police said.
The driver, also a Long Beach resident, remained at the scene, police said.
Distracted driving was believed to be a factor in the crash, police said.
