A corroded stoplight crashed onto India Street in San Diego’s Little Italy, after years of dog urine caused the base to fail.

The Times Of San Diego reports driver Alyssa Ash was passing Hawthorne Avenue around 7:00 PM Friday when the pole collapsed with a loud bang.

Witnesses compared the sound to a gunshot. No one was injured, but the falling signal ripped the bumper off a vehicle.

Crews deactivated the live wires and installed a temporary light, reopening the road before midnight. City officials expect full repairs later this month.
