It’s expected to rain in Southern California this weekend, bringing a welcome break to the hot temperatures we’ve been experiencing.

While things will be a bit cooler and wetter, there are still plenty of things going on, and not just the Los Angeles Dodgers playing in the National League Championship Series starting Sunday.

Here’s a few highlights worth checking out around Los Angeles.

Stay safe and have fun!

When: Sunday, Oct. 11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Downtown, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Arts District, Boyle Heights and Echo Park

This all-day celebration gives the streets to the people, closing them to cars in favor of walkers, runners, cyclists and anyone else using human-powered transportation.

This edition, dubbed Heart of LA, includes 6.5 miles of roads in Echo Park, Downtown, Chinatown, Boyle Heights and more, and it will go on rain or shine.

“It’s not a race. There’s no starting point or finish line—begin where you like and enjoy the day your way,” organizers said.

The event is free, though businesses along the route will be open.

When: Sunday, Oct. 11, 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Where: Santa Monica Pier, 200 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA 90401

Now that you’ve worked up an appetite, head over to the Santa Monica Pier for an all-inclusive celebration of seafood, plus beer, wine and spirit tastings, music and fun competitions.

“Our mission is to bring seafood lovers together for a day of fun and community on the historic Santa Monica Pier, celebrate the city’s best dining offerings, and raise funds and awareness for Heal the Bay and Santa Monica Pier Corporation,” organizers said.

If you’re looking for an even better experience, consider the VIP package, which includes one-hour early entry to the festival, more restaurant tastings, full pours of drinks, a tote bag and unlimited amusement park rides at Pacific Park.

General admission tickets are about $129, and VIP tickets are about $197. Group discounts are available. Click here to purchase.

When: Weekends in October

Where: SkyPark at Santa’s Village, 28950 CA-18, Skyforest, CA 92385

This seasonal celebration is ostensibly a pumpkin patch, but it’s really so much more than that.

“Fall comes alive at SkyPark with Pumpkins in the Pines, a family-friendly fall festival and pumpkin patch near Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino Mountains,” organizers said. “Spend a crisp autumn day beneath towering pines and changing leaves while exploring a park-wide pumpkin patch, painting pumpkins, enjoying seasonal food and drinks, watching The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Puppet Show, and discovering fall activities throughout the park.”

Tickets are about $50 for kids and $60 for adults.
