On Sept. 24, R. Roger Rowe School celebrated the diversity and community at the annual International Fair. Over 350 students, family members and alumni came together to learn more about 19 host countries featured at booths set up in the sunny school quad.
“This is my favorite event of the year because the families of R. Roger Rowe bring their knowledge and passion for their cultures and traditions and graciously share it with our community,” said drama teacher Heidi Moreno, who organized the event.

In addition to the 19 countries highlighted, the event also included performances from UC San Diego’s Indian Fusion Dance Team, high school Folklorico dancers from Danzas del Corazon, and R. Roger Rowe’s rock band The Band of Nines. Rowe music teacher Jonathan Valverde opened the fair with his incredible Mariachi vocals. The Torrey Pines High School Japanese Club also hosted a booth, teaching students origami and Japanese greetings.
“Seeing all of the excitement at each booth brings so much joy to our school,” staff member and International Fair volunteer Rachel Rybeki shared.
