With about two months until the puck drops on the 2026-27 season, the Professional Women’s Hockey League has rolled out what its four new expansion teams will be wearing when they take the ice.

The PWHL launched the jerseys on their website and social media channels on Thursday, October 8. And, like other PWHL teams before them, the new squads will wear jerseys with their city names spelled out diagonally across the front in their first season, with nicknames and logos coming later.

“With Opening Weekend getting closer, unveiling these jerseys is another exciting milestone for our four new teams and the fans who have embraced them from day one. Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas, and San Jose are each building their own connection with their communities, and these jerseys give fans another way to show their pride while carrying forward a PWHL tradition of putting the city name front and center in a team’s inaugural season.”

— Amy Scheer, Executive Vice President of Business Operations, PWHL

The jerseys adhere to the colour schemes unveiled with the announcement of each city’s team in May 2026 (Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas, San Jose) with the slight exception of Las Vegas, who have added navy blue to their previously announced green and golden yellow palette.

Here’s a closer look at each jersey and what the PWHL has to say about each one in a press release:

PWHL Detroit’s black home jersey features silver metallic accents, reflecting the city’s automotive history, innovative and industrial spirit, and the bold and resilient identity of Metro Detroiters. The color trio of white, silver, and red stripes are a callback to Detroit’s 313 area code, with red as a nod to Hockeytown’s hockey stewardship in the United States for more than 100 years. The team’s inaugural partner, Ally Financial, is the exclusive jersey patch partner of PWHL Detroit.

PWHL Hamilton’s gold, deep red, burnt orange, and cream color palette embodies the city’s steel industry while paying homage to the area’s deep sports history. The gold primary home jerseys with burnt orange and deep red accents evoke the colors of forging and rusted steel, while calling back to the uniforms worn by the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the former Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL) and Hamilton Tigers (NHL).

The green, gold, and navy color palette of PWHL Las Vegas is inspired by the natural scenery of Southern Nevada. The primary green home jerseys reflect the beauty of the desert valley, while a custom gold accent color, created especially for PWHL Las Vegas, evokes the sparkle of the desert sun. Navy stripes provide a striking contrast and nod to the desert at night. The jerseys proudly say ‘VEGAS’ across the front, embracing the name locals use for the place they call home.

PWHL San Jose’s mandarin orange home jerseys with sky blue accents are bright, bold, and imaginative, capturing the Bay Area’s optimistic energy and the beauty of California. The distinct and recognizable mandarin orange color – a nod to both the region’s orange groves and San Jose’s flag – is a first for Bauer to use as a team’s primary color.

The PWHL’s 2026-27 Opening Weekend will take place on December 5 and 6. The four expansion teams’ debut games will be:

Detroit: at Las Vegas – Sunday, December 6 Hamilton: at Montreal Victoire – Saturday, December 5 Las Vegas: vs. Detroit – Sunday, December 6San Jose: vs. Minnesota Frost – Saturday, December 5
