FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Two people are in the hospital following a shooting in an East Central Fresno neighborhood on Sunday afternoon.
Fresno police say, around 2:20 p.m., they received multiple calls about shots fired in the area of Fordham and Dayton avenues, north of Shields Avenue.
When they arrived, they found a man and a woman at a home with gunshot wounds to their upper body.
Authorities provided aid to the victims until emergency medical services and fire arrived at the scene to assist.
The man and woman were taken to the hospital for treatment. Their conditions are unknown.
Officers say they believe the shooting occurred following a fight between the male victim and an unknown suspect.
The suspect fled the scene. Police have not released any information identifying the suspect or the vehicle they were in but say the suspect may be armed and dangerous.
The gun used in the shooting has not been found.
Fresno police say they will investigate the area for the next few hours as they look for evidence and speak with witnesses and family members.
