Weather is not the leading cause of delays, the data revealed.
Flight delays across the United States have reached their highest levels since 2007, with 22% of all flights delayed through July, according to new data from Hearst Television’s Get the Facts data team.
Sacramento International Airport is performing better than the national average, with only 20.2% of flights delayed. In comparison, San Francisco International Airport recorded the highest percentage of delayed flights in the country, with 36% of all flights delayed upon arrival.
Weather is not the leading cause of delays, the data revealed.
Issues such as late aircraft, crew problems, maintenance, heavy traffic, and air traffic delays far outnumber weather-related delays.
So far this year, Sacramento International was also a slightly better airport option than Oakland or Reno in terms of flight delays, the analysis noted.
