BRENTWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A private school in Brentwood went on lockdown due to an apparent swatting call on Monday afternoon, causing a scare for parents and students.
The Los Angeles Police Department said it received a call about a supposed bomb threat around 1 p.m. at Milken Community School on Zeldins Way.
Editor’s note: LAPD initially reported that the call was about an active shooter, but later clarified it was a bomb threat. This post has been updated to reflect that change.
However, when police arrived, no threat was found, according to LAPD. The scare triggered a large law enforcement response at the school and a lockdown for students.
A parent told Eyewitness News the school was eventually given the all-clear.
LAPD says the incident appears to be a swatting call, which is when a caller reports a fake emergency to 911. The investigation is ongoing.
According to its website, Milken Community School is a private Jewish middle and high school.
