The San Jose Sharks will look to extend their winning streak to four against the Minnesota Wild and will get help doing so.

William Eklund will return to the Sharks lineup and play his first game since Nov. 1 against the Colorado Avalanche.

Eklund had been playing some of the best hockey of his career before sitting out for a lower-body injury. Through 12 games, Eklund has 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists),

Per SJHN, Eklund will slot back in the San Jose Sharks’ second line with Alexander Wennberg and Philipp Kurashev. That line began to dominate opposing teams’ top lines while still putting up terrific offensive numbers.

“He’s obviously one of our better players,” Warsofsky said after the Sharks’ 3-1 win over the Florida Panthers. “He’s skilled. He can deepen us, so hopefully we’ll have him back for the road trip.”

Ethan Cardwell could be sent down to the San Jose Barracuda as a corresponding move. He is not listed in the projected lineup, and a spot needs to be opened for Eklund to be activated off IR.

Timothy Liljegren will also be a healthy scratch for the Sharks on Tuesday. Shakir Mukhamadullin will return to the lineup after sitting against the Panthers.
