A man died Saturday night following a fight with a friend at a home in Fowler.

Fowler police officers responded at 10:30 p.m. to a home near East Adams Avenue and North Second Street, where a gathering was taking place and the two men became involved in a fight.

One of the men became unresponsive during the altercation. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Fowler police asked Fresno County Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives to take over the investigation.

Investigators determined that alcohol was a factor in the incident, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Tony Botti said.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
