Susan P. Fields
OBITUARY
Susan Peterson Fields passed away after a brief and sudden illness on October 10, 2026. Born in San Francisco, she was a proud, lifelong Californian. A veracious reader and continuous learner, she graduated from UC Davis and later worked in university recruitment and admissions. At Davis she met her husband and love, Edward, they married in 1974. Together they built a life in Southern California, with family and friends, welcoming two children and later a much beloved grandchild. Susan always remembered a birthday, sent a postcard while traveling, never missed an election, and will be remembered as a constant, loving, and kind presence in the lives of all who were fortunate to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Dorothy and parents-in-law, Melvin and Lorraine. She is survived by her husband, Edward; two children, Benjamin (Rebecca) and Sarah (Emet); one grandchild, Melvin; two siblings, David (Carol) and Nancy; along with nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Temple Adat Shalom in Poway, details forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Temple Adat Shalom or the UC Davis Alumni Association.
