WASHINGTON (TNND) — Police in Bakersfield, California, are investigating a second shooting in which shots were fired at the KBAK and KBFX studio, after a similar incident Friday night.
Sinclair security footage from the first shooting on Oct. 9 has been released, showing what happened outside the TV studio in Bakersfield, about 115 miles north of Los Angeles. In the video, muzzle flashes can be seen as shots are fired.
Investigators said 10 shots were fired into a conference room and an office. No injuries were reported in either shooting.
The Oct. 9 footage shows what appears to be a dark-colored car outside the building firing at the studio before eventually driving away. A similar dark vehicle was also spotted Tuesday morning.
In a statement, Sinclair said, “We are deeply concerned by a second shooting incident at our KBAK/KBFX studios in Bakersfield this morning, following a similar incident Friday evening. Thankfully, no one was injured. The safety and well-being of our employees is our highest priority, and we are taking these incidents extremely seriously. We are grateful to the Bakersfield Police Department for its swift response, and we appreciate their continued efforts to investigate these incidents and bring those responsible to justice.”
The shootings in Bakersfield follow another incident last year, targeting the ABC affiliate KXTV in Sacramento, where a 65-year-old man has been federally charged.
Anyone with information about the Bakersfield shootings is asked to call the city’s police department (661) 327-7111.
