Nordstrom Rack returns to San Francisco with new store

U.S. luxury department store Nordstrom on Thursday revealed plans to re-enter the San Francisco market with a new Nordstrom Rack store, set to open in fall 2027.

Located at 2 Stockton Street, the new Nordstrom Rack store will measure 51,500 square feet, and will sell the discount retailer’s typical 70%-off apparel, accessories, beauty products, home decor and shoes.

The Seattle-based retailer’s new Nordstrom Rack store expand its physical footprint in the San Francisco Bay Area, a market where Nordstrom continues to invest, after the October 2025 opening of its Nordstrom Local Fillmore location in the city’s Pacific Heights area.

“We look forward to bringing Nordstrom Rack to downtown San Francisco and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices,” said Gemma Lionello, president of Nordstrom Rack.

“Customers will be able to take advantage of our convenient services such as online order pickup from both Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com, and they can make returns easily.”

Today, Nordstrom Inc. currently operates 21 Nordstrom stores, 70 Nordstrom Rack stores and six Nordstrom Locals in California, generating more than 11,200 jobs statewide.
