Representing Long Beach’s 8th District, City Councilmember Tunua Thrash-Ntuk was inspired to run for office to make her neighborhood better and safer for her community and for the kids she is raising there.

One thing Thrash-Ntuk wishes people knew about her job is that councilmembers are part-time elected officials who are often working parents just like their constituents. Her proudest accomplishment so far is outfitting a new office to serve the community in the heart of the district.

If Thrash-Ntuk could have lunch with any elected officials, she would choose Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. She is currently reading Viola Davis’s autobiography, Finding Me.
