Good morning, baseball fans!
The 2026 MLB Playoffs continue today with the league championship series. At least one of them, anyway.
As of the time this is being written, neither of yesterday’s games have concluded, though the Tampa Bay Rays have an early lead over the Cleveland Guardians. Who knows if they will keep it. Well, I guess YOU know because you’re reading this in the future. Either way, that series will continue today.
If there is any goodness left in this world, that will be the only game today because the Los Angeles Dodgers will have been swept by the Milwaukee Brewers last night. But things seldom play out the way we want them to. So that series might continue today as well.
I’m not sure how the ALCS start time would be affected if that is the only game today, so I’ll try to get in and update this in the morning if I get a chance.
In the meantime, this is what is ostensibly on deck for today:
First up, the visiting Rays will play Game 4 of the ALCS against the Guardians at 3:00 p.m. PT. As of the time this is being written, neither team has named a starter for that game. But it will be broadcast on TBS/HBO Max, with national radio coverage available on ESPN Radio.
If necessary (and I hope it’s not), the NLCS will continue in Los Angeles tonight at 6:00 p.m. PT. No starting pitchers named for that one yet either. But it will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1/Fox One, with national radio coverage available on ESPN Radio.
If there are two games today, let’s discuss the ALCS and who we’re rooting for over there. If there is only the one game today, let’s celebrate the Dodgers loss instead! Sure, it’s a little tacky, but we have to find joy where we can in this life.
