LONG BEACH, Calif. — At least seven residential buildings along the Long Beach Peninsula have been red-tagged, and two have been yellow-tagged after recent storms caused significant damage and flooding to homes along the coast.

And it’s not just homes. The storms destroyed a large portion of the 3,600-foot bulkhead and walkway that hugs the shoreline.

City crews have put in emergency-stabilization measures and plan to repair the bulkhead after storm season at an estimated cost of $1.5 million to $3.5 million, according to the city.
