City of Bakersfield Veteran employees to be honored with lunch at BPD headquarters

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Over 100 Veterans employed by the city of Bakersfield will be treated to a Salty’s BBQ catered lunch in downtown on Thursday.

All Veterans employed by the city are invited to a complimentary lunch Nov. 13 at 1601 Truxtun Avenue. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to organizers.

There will be sit down availability at BPD headquarters and a drive-up option will be available on Eye Street.

This annual event is put together by the BPD command staff and the Bakersfield Police Officers Association.

Salty’s BBQ and Dewar’s Candy Shop will be providing the lunch and dessert.
