Anaheim Ducks News & Notes
Anaheim recalled Roger McQueen from AHL San Diego on Oct. 13 ahead of a game against Calgary, with Troy Terry on injured reserve and Cutter Gauthier and Ryan Poehling listed day-to-day. McQueen, the tenth overall pick in the 2025 draft, had three goals in four games with the Gulls and was slotted to center a third line with Frank Vatrano and A.J. Greer. He posted 27 points in 36 games at Providence College last season. Mikael Granlund is also day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
The Ducks’ depth produced a 5-1 win in Winnipeg on Oct. 9, handing the Jets their first regulation loss of the season. The fourth line accounted for three goals, with Judd Caulfield scoring his first NHL goal in his fourth game, Tim Washe adding a goal and an assist, and former Manitoba Moose forward Jeff Malott collecting two assists. Joel Quenneville credited the trio for scoring off the rush and sustaining possession through the third period.
New York Islanders News & Notes
The Islanders’ 6-0 win over New Jersey at UBS Arena earlier this month offered a template for how this group wants to play. Ilya Sorokin turned aside everything he saw, including slot chances from Luke Hughes and Luke Evangelista, while the offense arrived in a second-period burst. Simon Holmstrom opened the scoring on a two-on-one from JG Pageau and Adam Pelech, Brayden Schenn buried a rebound, and Bo Horvat scored at 12:08. Matthew Schaefer collected two assists in the frame.
The health of the forward group remains the central storyline. Matias Maccelli and Calum Ritchie both left a game with injuries over the weekend, and the club has since issued updates that included return timetables for the pair. Mathew Barzal’s status has also been addressed in recent team notes. The injuries avoided worst-case outcomes, but they leave New York thinner up front than it was at the start of the month.

Players To Watch
Beckett Sennecke — Anaheim Ducks
Box Score Junkie has Sennecke at a 56.9% Corsi-for and 65.0 shot attempts per 60 this season, and he’s buried five goals on 3.3 expected, a plus-1.7 finishing edge. Play is tilting his way whenever he’s out there, which makes him a reasonable anytime-goal look tonight.
Kyle Palmieri — New York Islanders
Palmieri drew an assist on three shots last time out, and the underlying work backs it up: Box Score Junkie credits him with a 57.6% Corsi-for and 64.2 shot attempts per 60 this season, plus two goals on 1.5 expected. Shot volume from a middle-six role makes him a fantasy flier.
