FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A Fresno glass art studio is bringing fall to life one handmade pumpkin at a time.
The free family event also lets people see the artistry behind the glass and support local makers.
At Ballis Glass, every piece starts with clear glass heated to 2,000 degrees.
Owner Cory Ballis hand-mixes his own colors to create unique designs, including beautiful glass pumpkins, just in time for Halloween.
This weekend, families can watch him transform hot glass into art during live demonstrations.
Owner Cory Ballis said, “It’s pretty fun watching them when they feel the heat, their eyes get big, and they get kind of nervous. And then once they’re done, they really get a big smile on their face.”
Ballis says seeing children go from nervous to excited is one of the rewards of sharing his craft.
The studio also offers beginner-friendly glassmaking workshops, with a holiday market coming up in December.
The free pumpkin patch runs October 24th and 25th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Ballis Glass on North Sunnyside Avenue in Fresno.
The holiday market is on December 5th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
