Adults can support Ramona schools while enjoying some wine and Halloween-themed fun next week.

Friends of Ramona Unified Schools is hosting its “Halloween Wine Bingo” fundraiser from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 on Pamo Valley Winery’s patio at 636 Main St.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. A ticket includes one glass of wine, five bingo cards, snacks and prizes.

“Raise a glass for Ramona’s students,” organizers said. “Mingle, sip some wine, play bingo, and help make a difference for our children.”

FORUS, an all-volunteer nonprofit established in 2013, focuses on health and safety needs at Ramona campuses. Since its inception, donations from the community and fundraisers have paid for everything from drinking fountains, vandal-proof soap dispensers and AED units to restroom renovations, nontoxic playground chips and roof repairs.

Over the past 13 years, FORUS has raised over $300,000, which does not include a $10,600 Neighborhood Reinvestment grant approved by District 2 San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson.

As for upcoming expenditures, they include $8,000 for two quad cameras with mounting equipment and licensing on the Ramona Community Campus. Also planned are bottle filler stations at Hanson, Barnett and Mt. Woodson elementary schools.

The FORUS board will be choosing more projects during its 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 meeting in the Ramona Woman’s Club building, 524 Main St. The public is welcome to attend.

FORUS welcomes project suggestions from parents, teachers, students, district employees and administrators, and the community. For more information, visit supportforus.org or call President Tiffany Lynch at 619-871-3721.
