BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the 17-year-old girl who died after a crash in northeast Bakersfield in October.

Mirian Stephanie Ramirez Masin, 17, of Bakersfield was one of three passengers in a 2020 white Toyota Camry on eastbound Alfred Harrell Highway, east of Fairfax Road, Oct. 19, according to officials. All three passengers were 17-year-old girls.

The 18-year-old male driver lost control of the Toyota, according to the California Highway Patrol. The vehicle veered to the westbound lane and rolled down an embankment at 7:55 p.m.

The driver and three passengers, including Masin, were taken to Kern Medical with moderate to severe injuries, CHP said.

Masin was pronounced dead four days later at 8:22 p.m. Oct. 23, coroner’s officials said.

A GoFundMe has been created to support the victims and their family. According to the GoFundMe, Masin was in the vehicle with her twin sister who was also seriously injured.

The driver could face vehicular manslaughter charges, CHP previously said.
