BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Rising prices, high housing costs and financial pressures continue to create challenges for families across the country.

A new national poll from UnidosUS highlights the economic struggles facing working-class Latinos and how concerns about affordability extend beyond the Latino community. According to the poll, 68% of working-class Latinos say they feel they are working harder but falling further behind financially.

The survey also found that 60% of Latino small-business owners say immigration enforcement actions have negatively affected their businesses.

Lisette Orellana Engel, director of economic policy at UnidosUS, joined ARC Bakersfield to discuss the findings and what they could mean for working families.
