Lansing Promise announced a new partnership with Oakland University, expanding opportunities for eligible Lansing School District students to pursue a four-year university education with support from the Lansing Promise Scholarship Program.
The partnership adds Oakland University to Lansing Promise’s growing network of postsecondary partners, giving eligible Promise Scholars another option as they plan their educational and professional futures.
“We are excited to welcome Oakland University as a … partner,” said Jayme King, executive director of Lansing Promise. “Every student deserves the opportunity to explore their potential and pursue an education that opens doors to their future. This partnership gives our scholars another pathway to consider as they work toward earning a degree and building successful careers.”
Lansing Promise provides scholarships and student support for eligible students who live, attend school, and graduate within the Lansing School District boundaries.
The addition of Oakland University builds on the program’s expanding network of educational partners, which includes Lansing Community College, Michigan State University, Saginaw Valley State University, Central Michigan University, the University of Olivet, Davenport University, and Douglas J Institute.
“Partnerships like this help us continue to expand what is possible for Lansing students,” King added. “Our goal is not simply to help students get to college or begin a training program. We want to provide the scholarship resources, guidance, and support they need to stay on track and complete their education.”
