FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A woman is in the hospital after she was struck by a vehicle in a road rage incident in Northwest Fresno on Friday morning.
According to Fresno police, they were called to Marty Avenue and Valentine Avenue just after 5:30 a.m. for reports that a person had been hit by a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they discovered that two vehicles driving north on Marty Avenue cut each other off in an act of road rage.
Eventually, the woman driver pulled over and walked to the rear passenger side of her vehicle when the second driver sped up behind her and struck her and her vehicle.
The woman was injured and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is expected to live.
Police say the second driver, a man, fled the scene and headed north on Marty Avenue.
Officers are investigating the incident as an intentional assault with a deadly weapon.
