PITTSBURGH —
A new lawsuit filed on Oct. 13 alleges that owner of an Oakland home knew about the home’s dangerous conditions of a home where a porch roof collapsed, injuring 16 people.
The collapse, which happened on St. Patrick’s Day last year, came after multiple people stood on the roof minutes earlier. The new lawsuit alleges that the owner of the home failed to maintain the roof.
The plaintiff claims that she was struck in the head by the collapsing roof, leading to injuries including a concussion, bruises across her entire body, and PTSD.
The plaintiff alleges that the owner of the property, The Robert V Erickson Trust, knew about the condition of the home and failed to do maintenance work on the roof or notify the people who lived in the home about the danger.
The plaintiff is seeking compensation for their injuries.
