FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Fresno TNR has set up a GoFundMe for a replacement van after the original van was damaged in an accident.

Fresno Trap-Neuter-Return is a volunteer nonprofit that provides vaccinations, trap loans, community education, transportation, and assistance for cats with medical needs.

Fresno TNR was established in 2023 and has helped spay and neuter more than 28,000 cats.

The van used to transport cats was rear-ended on Thursday.

No cats or people were injured.

Fresno TNR was told by the claims adjuster that the van is a total loss and that repairs would take months if the necessary parts could be found.

They contacted 5 rental companies to get a rental van, but other companies have booked them out for the holiday season.

Fresno TNR said it has found a replacement van but needs help with additional costs.

Fresno TNR expects an insurance payment for the damaged van but said it will not cover the full purchase price of a replacement.

The organization also said it needs additional funds for insulation, Fresno TNR logo graphics, and air conditioning in the rear cargo area to keep cats comfortable during transport.

Fresno TNR said it had recently invested a substantial amount in insulating the van that was damaged in the crash.

Fresno TNR said reliable transportation is critical to its operations and that without it, transport to surgery would halt.

A GoFundMe has been created to help raise funds for the replacement van.
