Vote centers across Sacramento County are open, drawing voters eager to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day on Tuesday.

“At the vote center you can vote in person, get reissued a ballot — let’s say your dog ate your homework, you’re able to get a reissued ballot — you can drop off your mail-in ballot or even use that to vote in-person,” said Eben Burgoon, a Sacramento County election inspector.

Burgoon and his team assisted voters to the vote center at the California Museum on O Street on Monday.

“We’ve had really great energy already,” Burgoon said. “A lot of our voters are expressing, I think, the excitement and the stakes of the election to us.”

This is one of Sacramento’s vote centers open and accessible to voters ahead of Nov. 3.

“A lot of our voters are expressing, I think, the excitement and stakes. They’re saying they’re glad we’re here because they want to get their vote in early,” Burgoon said.

Vote centers open 10 days ahead of Election Day following the passage of the Voter’s Choice Act.

Vote centers remain open across Sacramento County as Election Day approaches. Additional locations will open for four days of early voting starting on Saturday.
