6th annual Animal Compassion Team golf tournament

Furry friends gathered for a fundraiser in Fresno County on Monday.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Furry friends gathered for a fundraiser in Fresno County on Monday.

The sixth annual Animal Compassion Team Golf Tournament was held at the Belmont Country Club.

More than a hundred golfers teed up for a good cause.

Many of the participants have taken part every single year.

The money raised helps the no-kill shelter care for dogs and cats looking for forever homes.

“It’s great to see them, it’s really a friendship type thing we get to see everybody get together again and for the perfect cause,” ACT special events coordinator Doug Gray said. “It just brings me a lot of joy and I know we have about 30 volunteers out here today and I know it brings them joy equally as much.”

The fundraising goal was $30,000 but organizers estimated that they got even more than that — thanks to extra donations.

You can help the animal compassion team anytime by donating on their website.
